Are we sparking or fizzling out?

Hey there,

Here in the UK, it’s Guy Fawkes night, where we (strangely) celebrate someone who attempted to blow up our Houses of Parliament in the 1600s.

But, as the night skies prepare to be embroidered with fireworks, let's remember that the most spectacular sparks are often those we feel with a loved one. Here's this week’s firework-inspired connection kit:

🫶🏼 Something to share with a loved one:

Fireworks in a Jar: If you can't watch the fireworks together, create your own!

Grab a jar, some glow sticks (or LED lights), and glitter. Break the glow sticks in (be careful with the contents!), add glitter, shake, and watch your indoor firework display. If you're apart, video call and share the moment live.

This is a really fun activity to do with children, too.

💌 Something to ask a loved one:

"What revolution would you start in our lives?”

Discuss what you'd both like to transform in your relationship or in your personal lives.

💝 Something to give you hope:

The term "sparks" in relationships is metaphorical, borrowed from the physical phenomenon where sparks are small, bright flashes of fire generated by a sudden disturbance, like striking flint and steel together. Sparks are energetic and lively, and their metaphorical use suggests a relationship that is vibrant, exciting, and full of life.

Burn bright,
